King of the Zombies was a 1941 zombie movie with a… excuse the pun… killer plot. The movie starred Dick Purcell, Joan Woodbury, Mantan Moreland, and Henry Victor (The Mummy).
From the back cover: Flyers John Archer and Dick Purcell and servant Mantan Moreland land on a Caribbean island. Mad scientist Dr. Henry Victor is busy using hypnotism and voodoo to create an army of zombies. His fiendish plan is to use them to gather secret defense information for the Axis powers. Comic Moreland turns this chiller into a hilariously funny film as he marches his fellow zombies as soldiers.
Voodoo, fiendish plans, hypnotism, army of zombies???? I’m all in.
